WE CAN TURN YOUR SPACE INTO A FILM MAKING STUDIO. CREATE CHARACTERS USING PLASTICINE, CARD AND COLLAGE MATERIALS AND MAKE THEM COME ALIVE WITH THE MAGIC OF STOP MOTION ANIMATION. PARTICIPANTS CAN BE INVOLVED IN ALL ASPECTS OF FILMMAKING INCLUDING STORY BOARDING, MODEL MAKING, ANIMATING, SOUND RECORDING AND EDITING. ANIMATION CAN BE RUN AS A WHOLE DAY WORKSHOP, 2 1/2 DAY SESSIONS, OR A LONGER PROJECT. WE CAN ALSO PROVIDE A DROP-IN FAMILY ANIMATION DAY GIVING PARTICIPANTS THE CHANCE TO CREATE A CHARACTER, ANIMATE IT AND HAVE A GO AT MAKING FLICK BOOKS AND DRAWN ANIMATION. Animation can be used to illustrate/ get across any message or explore any. Here are a few possible Themes: - Music Video – Identity – The Environment – The Sea - The Rainforest – Food – Birds- Emotions - Summer – The Beach – Graffiti – Relationships - Drugs – Alcohol – Self Image – Football – Space – The Future – Living in town/rural area – Scale - A particular Artist or musician – Travel – Fashion – Homelessness – Dreaming. RECENT PROJECTS ‘ Macbeth’ A 10 minute epic made with yr8 students at Coombeshead college, 2 and 3D animation. ‘ The Hungry Giant’ An animated poem celebrating food, words and Cornish stories made by 2 primary schools. FEAST CORNWALL ‘ How to Survive the Stone Age’ An animated guide made during workshops for Winchester Museum. ANIMATING APPLEDORE - An oral history project where children made a film inspired by reminiscences from older people.
 A TALE OF 2 MINNOWS - A First Light Film Project - an engaging tale about wildlife in the River Dart.
 THE ROMANS, and THE VICTORIANS - animated films about Roman and Victorian Winchester for the museum service with children aged 8 and over.

Each participant gets their own DVD to take home.

Using a poem, play or book as a starting point we work with children to draw out themes and images from the text, which we use as inspiration for making an animated film. Children are involved in recording words, making characters and sets and animating them. The first in this series will be a lighthouse/keepers cottage with all theflavour of the sea and the salty sea dog that lives within. This exciting project is ideal for festivals, exhibitions and events and will combine, performance, animation and a series of workshops.
